HAIRY
GOLDENASTER
Heterotheca villosa
It needs little water, often blooms for three or four months, seeds
itself readily (and spreads from roots), and has a spicy-sharp sage
aroma. Leaf color variations, even in plants growing side by side,
are very noticeable.
Hairy Goldaster was burned by the Cheyenne as incense to dispell evil
spirits. Medicinal.
